Jonas Raun had been looking for a team place for this season without success, then he got a call from Belle Vue that he quickly accepted. Eastbourne had shown an interest in signing him at the start of the season but that didn’t work out
Jonas had joined the Peterborough squad in the winter of 2006 and received a surprise call-up into the team to replace Pole Tomasz Bajerski at Easter despite a lack of senior experience.
It was his first full season of 500cc racing after making his Danish League debut for Holsted shortly after his 16th birthday.
In 2006 he also rode for Polish third division side Rawicz. He rode in the Danish Under 21 final in 2005, aged 16, and finished 15th.
Last year he rode 32 matches for Newcastle, achieving an average of 5.50, before crashing in September and he hadn't raced since until joining the Aces.
The 18 year old Dane is excited to be given the chance to ride for the Aces and it’s a chance he says he fully intends to make the most of.
